The Mini Spiral GU24 Base Lamps have been approved for use in totally enclosed fixtures and are available in a variety of options. Energy saving products has been an extremely hot topic for that past few years. Many new technologies and designs have emerged from growing consumer awareness and demand for environmentally friendly, energy saving lighting fixtures. No single advancement in energy saving lighting has been more widely received and implemented then the introduction of the GU24 base - self ballasted compact fluorescent lamp (CFL). The GU24 base designation is a fairly recent introduction, only first seen a few short years ago. The simple twist- lock design easily allows the user the ability to quickly insert or remove lamps. The unique base was adopted by ANSI (American National Standard Institute) and became the industry standard for dedicated self ballasted compact fluorescent lamp and replaceable electronic socket ballasts. The introduction of the GU24 base CFL has given lighting fixture manufacturers the ability to reduce cost, fixture size and overall product selection and design without sacrificing quality and energy saving performance.
